BURNING MAN 2016

It was the beginning of 2016, when I felt enormously tired of events related to family tragedy, the fight for professional development, and the fight for the completion of my doctoral dissertation. In the latter I already noticed a light in the tunnel! I was sure that the defense will take place this year! Merging the dissertation, including setting final conclusions, was the last stage of this enormous effort. These were purely formal matters resulting in submitting a job to the dean’s office. I finalized the fulfillment of the dream of “PhD” while thinking about making a reward for this feat. I wanted my holidays in 2016 to be different, non-standard, because after all, I did something else, not very common in the reality that surrounds me. My imagination creates beautiful visions. Thanks to it I feel less often, sometimes more often, but that I live. I wanted to feel it again. Again, I wanted to combine the passion of travel, music, culture, or new knowledge for me in general. For years I’ve been dreaming about participating in a music event, a cultural event like Burning Man (BM).
An event taking place in the Black Rock desert in northern Nevada. Where did the idea of such a distant and crazy trip come from? Well, after recovering – after a serious accident – of consciousness, I found that I want to learn, experience, make my dreams come true, including traveling – far away. I also wanted to prove myself that I can.
BM is a weekly event in the desert, which is a symbol of freedom, freeing you from the memories of unpleasant events. This event satisfies mainly the senses of the eyes and hearing in the broadly understood art. As Tatarkiewicz, W. writes, in his “Acts of the Six Concepts”, “art is the reproduction of things, or the construction of forms, or the expression of experiences – if the produce of this reproduction, construction, expression is able to delight, to move or to shake”. That’s why I refer to the Burning Man event as an Art Festival that you can enjoy in Black Rock City 24 hours a day. During the day you can experience the art seen through the eye, during the night, in turn, the art you hear mainly. Relaxation combined with a huge amount of new KNOWLEDGE shaping DEVELOPMENT. The end of this bliss takes place on Saturday evening, when burning a huge, wooden effigy Burning Man. The everyday life of this event passes in the climate of beauty, friendship and pleasure. The main means of locomotion in the BM is a bicycle. During the day, cycling on the huge area of the festival evoked admiration for the sight of various architectural creatures and costumes. The openness of people expressing themselves through their nakedness was amazing. You could see a huge diversity in clothing, behavior. There were those who enjoyed the sunshine, others played games and games, practiced yoga, meditation, wrestling, or those who created new works of art, paintings and sculptures. All of them, however, combined one thing – a smile and the weather of the spirit. In the evening, at night, there was a greater opportunity to meet new people, especially when driving a chosen, otherwise constructed vehicle, of which there were dozens with different genres of music. Music, dancing, riding bicycles, bumper cars, fireworks shows, so every night passed with anticipation of this climactic BM on Saturday 8 p.m. This is the moment when a huge Burning Man puppet burns in front of thousands of people who are born in their strength again. These are releases from bad memories, bad and past events. It was an amazing experience! I still remember this feeling to this day. Tears of happiness and gratitude to God for fulfilling my dream.

For 2016 I became a courageous, confident, grateful woman for whom nothing is impossible!
Because it’s worth fulfilling Dreams!
